A thorough diagnostic intake — not a checklist. Dr. Rao takes the time to understand your full history before making any recommendations.
MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
Evidence-based prescribing with ongoing monitoring and adjustment. Dr. Rao follows established safety guidelines and does not support high, unsafe doses of controlled medications.
PSYCHOTHERAPY
Dr. Rao incorporates therapy directly into psychiatric care, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Supportive Therapy.
GENETIC TESTING
Dr. Rao offers pharmacogenomic testing — a DNA-based analysis that determines how your body processes specific psychiatric medications. This reduces trial-and-error and helps identify the most effective and safe medication options based on your biology.
LEVEL OF CARE RECOMMENDATIONS
When a higher level of care is needed — inpatient, intensive outpatient, or residential — Dr. Rao will provide clear guidance and referrals.
SCHOOL AND COLLEGE ACCOMODATIONS
Dr. Rao provides documentation and recommendations to support educational accommodations for students of all ages.
ADDITIONAL TESTING REFERRALS
When neuropsychological, psychological, or other diagnostic testing is warranted, Dr. Rao will coordinate appropriate referrals.
